The Bachelor of Tourism, Hospitality and Events (THE) is offered by James Cook University at its Singapore campus (2-year programme) and its Brisbane and Cairns campuses in Australia (3-year programme). The course builds practical, industry-ready skills in tourism, hospitality and events management, with a focus on digital fluency, sustainability and tropical-destination tourism.

Students complete 400 hours of work experience and industry-based assessments, with the opportunity for paid internships at five-star industry partners. Graduates leave with barista, Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA), and HACCP food safety qualifications alongside their degree.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Completed Year 12 / GCE A-Levels (or equivalent local qualification, e.g. Sri Lankan A/Levels) - minimum 4 passes
  • English: IELTS 6.0 overall (no band below 6.0), or TOEFL iBT 74 (no section below 18), or PTE Academic 52 (no section below 52)

Students who don't meet the direct entry requirements may be eligible for pathway programmes such as the Diploma of Hospitality Management before progressing into the Bachelor's degree - speak to our consultants to check eligibility.
